The Les & Betty Krueger Family Healing Garden provides a unique hospital environment for patients, families and visitors, physicians and Harrison staff. It has been designed specifically with tranquility in mind, giving all who enter a respite from the stresses ever present in a hospital environment.
Featuring a beautiful natural setting, the garden stimulates one’s visual, auditory and olfactory senses through the choice of plants, artistic features, sound and color – offering visitors a range of proven clinical and therapeutic benefits.
At the heart of the healing garden is another critical feature: hope. Represented by a 9-1/2 foot metal sculpture created by local artist Lisa Stirrett, the “Tree of Hope” is a symbol of human resilience and the power of shared stories to remind us that we are not alone. An interactive kiosk placed in the garden makes actual messages of hope available to our patients and their caregivers.
